"The expression of Christian character is not good doing, but God-likeness.
you will exhibit Divine characteristics in your life, not good human characteristics.
God's life in us expresses itself as God's life,
not as a human life trying to be godly.
The secret of a Christian is that the supernatural is made natural in him by the grace of God..."

Whoa! Powerful! Anyone can do good things, but it is something totally different to let God live out His life within us...
ReplyDeleteThat last line- "The supernatural is made natural...by the grace of God..." Wow. That's just like God and His grace.
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures! Makes me think of heaven!
ReplyDeleteI'm inspired.
ReplyDeleteSO true. Our own 'righteousness' is really useless. We need Godliness, (Be therefore perfect, as your Father in heaven is perfect), and that is so far higher than anything we try to do. Only by surrendering our lives and will to God, for Him to use as He sees best, will we attain to true Godliness.
ReplyDeleteOswald Chambers! That book is a treasure. It was one of the first that I read post-conversion and thinking of it brings back sweet memories of a hundred "aha" moments when I was making my first tries at using faith..
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this convicting reminder..
